I’ve been an avast user for about three years. ( Thanks to the Alwil team for doing a bang-up job! )
I had to re-register today… filled out the form clicking #3 - for expired. I thought it was pretty quick in getting a new registry key, but I’ve not received an email as yet. I use ‘yahoo.com’ as email addy and have spam filter turned off to be sure I see the email from avast.
I didn’t get a warning like I did last time… (your registry is about to expire, etc.) When I tried to update the Vps today, I got the pop-up “The license key for this product is invalid or expired.” (my date is correct)
Does it take longer than I remember for a new registry key?
I’m still on 4.7 if that’s a factor.
Thanks.
Can you check your yahoo mail through webmail and see if you get the key?
Can you use any other email address to test?
About 4.7, well, why didn’t you upgrade to 4.8.1201 version? ???
Thanks Tech for your response.
The only way I know how to check Yahoo mail is through web access - so that’s the way I’m checking it. Also, spam filter is turned off.
I didn’t think about turning off the spam filter until about 10 minutes after re-registering. Should I try registering again? or, would that cause more problems?
Thanks.
About going to v4.8… not ready yet
Well, I tried asking for another reg key (saying I lost my reg key). I still get no response from avast in the last 2 hours. AND I can’t update the VPS because it says my license expired. ???
Do you think the lack of receiving an email has to do with the explosion that occurred last night and took a server or two?
Thanx.
Well, I guess the third time is a charm ;D
Finally got a reg key after submitting the info the third time.
