Re: Web shield does NOT turn on (SOLVED)

Hi, After trying to update avast Pro from .677 to the latest beta .835 after the installation finished, the Web Shield was disabled and there was no way to turn it on(other shields are OK and On. So I uninstalled the Beta version thinking it was something with it, and tried to install the previous .677, and now the WebShield which used to work perfectly is disabled too.

I restarted several times, and tried to repair avast but to no avail and nothing has changed on the other security resident programs: Malwarebytes and OnlineArmor

Anyone?

It was Online Armor that quietly prevented one of the avast components to start.

Hi Diazruanova: So did you upgrade to .835 then…or stay with .677?

I gave up on OA about a year ago, it was too much trouble.

I gave it another try about a month ago, it froze on safety check, never again!

In my signature you can see what I’m very happy with. :slight_smile:

After this problem was resolved with .677m I proceeded to upgrade to .835 and everything -so far- looks good !

Yep, OS’s can be finiky but for me OA++ is the cats meow…so to speak. Just love it! But can be troublesome if not configured properly.
Plays well with my layered security.
Hope .835 works well for you. If you have any issues, the beta section is the place to be :wink:
