My computer tells me I’m at risk and on checking I find that 3 Real Time Shields state “Module Not Running”. These are: IMShield, P2PShield and File System Shield.
I have a subscription for Antivirus 7.0 Internet Security. I run Windows XP and am not technologically inclined. I’m also an elderly lady so please be kind to me.
There is so much reading and I’m confused! I just need an expert to tell me what has gone wrong and what I can do to fix this in “easy speak” language please. You guys have been awesome before, when I needed help. Thanks in advance for your help because my computer’s at risk and I’m stressing. I’m in Australia, if that helps.

I don’t think my reply went through, so will try again.
Thank you so much for your reply and the easy, simple way to fix the problem. I had received an email from Avast! yesterday and the instructions were complicated and they did not work. I appreciate your reply and thanks again. Will try this now and wish me luck.

Well, I tried that. Went to Add/Remove Programs and this is what came up.
“Avast Fatal Error”
"Error reading product data from “C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\Set up_abp-ffffffff.vpx”. Setup cannot continue "
I clicked for “Support information” and all it tells me is “Version 8.0.1483.0”
I cannot remove this Program so therefore cannot install my Avast anti virus. Is there anything else I can do, please? Thank you.

Thank you. I had replied but it obviously didn’t go through. So sorry.
I now find that I am faced with the same problem (31 Oct 2013) again so will be going through the motions that you suggested re downloading avast! Internet Security Points 1 - 4.

Wouldn’t using awsclear be in order, then reinstall? I find that solves most problems. The only thing is I never tried or bought the paid version, so I wouldn’t know how to re enter the license.
