I must congrats Alwill. I need to confess that I was not confortable with the idea of installing Avast 5 in my machines, due to the high number of complains about BSOD in this forum. But I did realize that the number of complains here is much, very much smaller compared with the number of installations of avast 5 around the world. So I decided to install it (First on windows 7, desktop).
Well, what can I say:
→ The new layout is amazing. In my opinion at least, this is the best GUI of an AV that I know.
→ I had Avira free before, and I thought that was very hard to another AV consumes less resources
than Avira. Specially Avast, with all these security providers (Web shield, P2p, IM, etc). I was wrong, I didnt notice any impact in performance. Its seems to use the same (or even less) resources than Avira had used. The computer is fast, browsing is fast as it it without AV (or with Avira)
→ After the install, I installed in the settings the portuguese language and realized that even the voices were in portuguese too! I thought that any other language installed in avast (not english) would not have the voices. And now I can see the level of perfection and care that the developers had with it.
→ Auto update runs smoothly, very fast and correctly. Actually you see a little impact in performance when it happens, but its for a little short time and totally acceptable.
→ I cant say about the detection rate, but I have the feeling that was really improved.
Congrats Alwill!! Even having specific problems with bsod with some machines, I think that avast 5 has a totally positive balance.
Just let me confirm some stuff?
1- The behavior shield is already submitting automatically any suspicious file that it finds in the machine to Alwill? When it happens the user is alerted about the detection of the behavior and about the send of the file to Alwill?
2- You can submit new sample by email or from the chest. I prefer from the chest. Submit from chest has a less priority than from email? Or its the same thing?
3- In the future you guys from Alwill plan to send back a feedback about the suspicious files that were submitted by the users?
4- Did you guys are already having the benefits of having the avast community IQ running? I mean, are you guys receiving less junk file and more real malwares to create new definitions faster?

Later I will try to install in my notebook. I hope that it keep the good running that it had in desktop. Notebook are a little more tricky with avs.
