I don’t know if this is the problem with Avast
But I didn’t have this problem before I upgraded to Avast Internet Securities
I cannot play links like
http://iwayradio.com/cast/tunein.php/graceradio/playlist.ram
Can some one who is using Avast check this?

Chris it works fine for me but i don’t use Real Player i only have the Real Media codecs installed and i can listen to it with Media Player Classic HC. I also have AIS installed. The firewall must be blocking your Real Player i guess. Can you check the firewall settings ?
Under Avast Internet Securites Firewall, I have given Realplayer.exe full access under Application rules
When I am trying to connect, I get a dialog with these info
" Connection to the server could not be established. You maybe experiencing network problems"

So strange, the server is up and running with only 1 listener as far as i can see. Can you try temporarily shutting down the firewall and trying again ? Just trying to get confirmation it really is the fw doing the blocking.
I checked again
This problem is not only with Real Player but also with Windows Media Player
It also seems strange to me
This is the link for Windows Media Player

I have K9 Web Protection installed
Can this be the problem?
Does this block shoutcast?

I don’t use that program myself but i assume it’s some kind of web filter ? If so then yes i believe that could be the culprit. Can you try with that disabled ?
EDIT: I’ll try googling it and see what comes up.

Yeah i’m quite sure this is your culprit. Apparently the software also has logging capabilites so can you check in there and see what it has been up to lately ?

I meant checking the logs in K9. As far as i’ve been able to tell the program should have logging capabilities.
EDIT: These links should help you with K9.

No problem with Screamer Radio listening to Grace Radio - Malayalam Christian Radio
Thanks darth_mikey and Yokenny
The problem was neither with Firewall or K9 Web Protection
I had forgotten to define my proxy in the Internet settings after I had formatted my PC and installed everything new yesterday…
Sorry for this fuss.
Finally it was a silly problem
Silly me :-[
