Hi,
On my Asus I7 w8.1 64, since i put the last version of Free avast, randomly the reboot take a long time to be good and the shut down too.
I tried, Offline install, same issue, and online same problem.
Really to check if it was due to the current version installed, i uninstall it and test reboot and shutdown.
And no problem, reboot is under 20sec, shutdown under 10.
With current version installed, reboot can take 45sec to 3min to do it and shutdown around of 1min.
I know that each pc is a different machine, but with my small test i can say that something wrong.
I don’t have any more the previous offline version.
So with the previous version i can check if it’s really avast or my pc.
But think that there issue with the last one.

Hi ^^
Well, only Avast was installed on this computer.
I have a small bitdefender anti-ransomware on memory.
And never any soft have issue problem with avast.
The previous version was fine.
If there’s a possibility to have the exe offline of the previous version it should be fine really to test if it’s avast the guilty of not.

First, be sure to get rid of all remnants of any prior/other installed AV(s)…!!
Then:
- Download Avast Free Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup_offline.exe
- Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
- Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
- Reboot.
Hi,
What i don’t understand is that on the other pc, no pb with same soft.
The bd ant ransowmare is a small soft not like a full AV like avast.
And never conflict with previous versions.

I don’t run any SW from BD, so I can’t comment on it.
Hi,
Well i tried all what proposed and stlll a long time for the reboot.
At this time it’s impossible to open a ticket as covid-19 still remain in the world.
So don’t know if a future update or a small patch will be released but for me Avast have a problem.
No problem with the previous version.
One again, if there’s a way to have the previous version off line exe around of 370mo, i’m ready to test it to check what’s wrong.

Unfortunately, there’s no additional support (Email/Chat/Phone) for Avast Free.
