Reboot when connecting VPN...

Hi,

Everytime I try to connect to my work VPN, the PC reboots.

At the beginning, I thinked it was a problem caused by the firewall (not enough rights for the VPN connection). But recently, I successfully used the VPN software after an avast uninstall.

I made tests: install/uninstall/Stop protection and the PC is ok only when avast is not installed.

The used VPN software is “Shiva VPN Client” - port 2233 - unknown vpn protocol.
and the avast version is the 4.5.561.

I would like either know how to really deactivate avast during VPN connections (so I will be able to continue tests) or how to correct the problem.

Thank you for your help.

Christophe

This sounds strange to me and more like an issue with firewall than A/V but if it works how can you argue . its easy enough to pause avast, just right click on A ball and the option is there to stop on -access protection or pause

Chris@Asn,

what is your operating system? If it’s Windows XP, please look up the folder \windows\minidump and send a couple of .mdmp files from there (preferably the neweset ones) to my email address for further analysis.

Thanks
Vlk
