This is interesting news? http://remove-malware.com/antimalware/rogue-anti-malware/is-rogue-anti-virus-malicious-or-should-we-just-ignore-them/
Looks like some people in the Avast forum are pissed that I pointed out that Avast missed a Rogue
No, we’re … of a testing of a beta and taking (jumping) to conclusions further it’s possible…
No, we’re … of not knowing the program settings and behavior…
I agree tech, i just like watching his reviews for entertainment they are not worth much more than that. He never does a good one on avast… soon as he finds one that does good he makes it his main one on his computers.
Yawn… :
I wonder why Malwarebytes can detect every rogue out there....hmmmm...Yes, I wonder too why a security program that started out (IIRC) named Rogue Remover can detect Rogues...funny that isn't it...
I agree with him These programs infect millions of pcs. Inflicting misery on people, lots who buy the rogue. Usually these infections are got just by opening messages or accidently visiting bad sites. The people who propagate this stuff are criminal scum.
Most people still use spybot/adaware and have not heard of MBAM. I personally thing AV companys should do all they can to include the detection of this type of malware. Some of these rogues now delete mbam.exe and use tdss components to make removal difficult. Its all right advising MBAM after the event, but it would be better if all AV’s took these rogues more serious and prevented them from infecting
Hi all…
I certainly agree rogues have become a serious problem and I’ve had to remove a few myself. Fortunately, MBAM makes it easy.
However, as far as a lack of detection goes, it’s not just alwil that needs to start taking this seriously, it’s the other AV vendors as well. If I remember correctly, we are seeing varients that can encrypt, in some way, one’s data until a fee is paid…
God bless
I’ve added my 2 cents if they get published, they’ll appear in the comments.
Want more?
Nobody here will say
On contrary… we want to avast a better detection. We’re not pi**ed because of that.
Hi Tech…
I’m not sure what you mean. ???
God bless
I believe that Avast is a great Anti-Virus software but I too have doubt about its Spyware detection capabilities…
So I have Malwarebytes installed
Update:
I think I will join their forum and piss them…just joking
@ intrepid44
He sure looks like a spammer to me ;D

Nobody here will say “Looks like some people in the Avast forum are pissed that I pointed out that Avast missed a Rogue”.
He’s putting words in our mouths…
Hi Tech…
Ok, I see. This is a universal problem, not just an Alwil problem.
God bless
He obviously doesn’t know or realize that avast evangelists or simply avasy users who has posted frequently on the avast forum.
He seems to be under the totally false impression that an avast evangelist is a part of Alwil. WRONG!!!
Their forum threads under “Avast! talk” are actually pretty amusing. First the tirade video on not paying attention to Rogues in Avast! Then a bunch of postings from their people who are using avast! 5 anyway, with a “ho hum everyone misses some” view. Then another set of videos showing avast! actually did much better than Avira and MSE on another set of malware. Now a few seem to be attacking avast! firewall for not really having a HIPS as an antileak tool and not doing as well on the Comodo Leak Tests (CLT). Probably wouldn’t score 100% on Matousec either. I tried posting a response to Matt’s page but could never get moderated, so reposted it in the forum. Suggested that with the Avast! 5 ability to block viruses, PUPs, suspicious content in Web Shield and elsewhere, the tools were there and it sounded like they were just complaining about the database in the beta being incomplete for Rogues, but then the other videos came in. Alwil certainly emphasizes on their new website that they are worried about identity theft, so hardly being ignored. And from the front page postings, it must all be RejZor’s fault.
It’s not his fault. He simply posted his opinion and they took it as the opinion of Alwil.
We all know a personal opinion express by any one of us has nothing to do with what Alwil’s
position is on that or any other subject.
