I have updated Avast to 2014.9.0.2006 two days ago, now I must disable the Avast program in order to connect to Web. What may be the fix?
If you’re using the free version of avast! check your firewall settings and make sure avast is allowed access.
With changed program processes, it is possible that a firewall could be blocking the changed process, resulting in an apparent inability to connect.
What is your operating system and firewall ?
Does it allow avastSvc.exe internet access ?
- If it does delete the entry for it and do a manual update and reconnect to the internet, this should force the firewall to ask permission again.
Whilst investigation/resolving this - the best option is to disable the web shield, that way you still have the remainder of the avast protection.
