So I was having some issues, a possible conflict between Avast and Comodo free F Wall, so I removed it and am using Windows F Wall now. Is that good enough or can you recommend another one, better then Windows, that has a good record of working with Avast Free?
Before purchasing AIS, I used Online Armor Free on my WinXP Pro SP3 machine. I was quite impressed with it, and it does quite well in the various firewall reviews.
The combination of this firewall and Avast Free gives a great deal of protection. I used Sygate Firewall for quite a while, but it wasn’t updated after Symantec bought it.
Did you have the Behavior blocker and Auto-sandbox Did you have the Behavior blocker and Auto-sandbox unknown files enabled incomodo Firewall, This conflicts with avasts behavior shield.unknown files enabled incomodo Firewall, This conflicts with avasts behavior shield.
yes,the comodo has an architecture different from other solutions
1.Firewall: Apply a security policy to a particular control point network. Its function is to regulate the route data traffic between different networks and prevent the transmission and / or reception of harmful or unauthorized access from one network to another.
2.HIPS: Monitor a try each activity and program (depending on configuration) prompts the user for action or respond based on predefined criteria. Moreover, the behavior blockers and monitor the behavior of the entire program listing. When a collection of tips the scale behavior, the behavior blocker vai (depending on configuration) or alert the user to take action against the entire program based on predefined criteria.
yes it is recommended to disable the detector behavior so that there is risk of conflict.
Online Armor Firewall offers protection similar to that offered by Comodo Firewall. Therefore, it is excellent.
• To learn what each option represents the detector behavior, with the word itself Comodo:
»Limited Mode: In this mode only a very restricted and selected system can be accessed by the application. When application is not allow the execution of more than 10 cases at a time and these are run without administrator privileges;
»Restricted Mode: In this mode the application is allowed access to only very few system resources. When application is not allow the execution of more than 10 cases at a time and they are executed in a very limited access;
Note: some applications such as computer games may not work properly when this option selected.
"Untrusted Mode: In this mode the application does not allow access to any part of the system. When application is not allow the execution of more than 10 cases at a time and they are executed in a very limited access;
Note: Some applications requesting user intervention may not work properly when this option selected.
For those users most at risk, I recommend the adoption of the so unreliable.
I have Comodo FW w/D+ and have never, ever had any conflicts with avast.
Comodo has avast in it’s internal whitelist.
If the user needs to, they can make exclusions in Comodo FW.
If anything Comodo FW behavior blocker kicks in before the avast autosandbox. 8)
