Would anyone mind recommending me a simple, secure, free email service?
Though I’m not horribly worried about it, the big fuss about companies spying on you through email has slightly bothered me. Besides, the spam/junk mail I have got because of data mining (that’s the correct term, right?) is irritating. So I’d like an free email service that’s as private as realistically possible.
I don’t want all that video chatting stuff, all I want is a simple, reliable email service that will last. (In other words, I don’t want an email service from a company so small that it goes down eventually :P) The only email services I know of off the top of my head are Gmail, Yahoo, and Hotmail. Those three are rather popular (at least the first two are), so they’re probably not the safest I’d assume.
I’d like some recommendations from fellow Avast members. Seems a lot more reliable than going to random ask websites looking for what they think are good email services.
If you google e-mail services you get all kinds that you could try.I personally have used outlook for years with no problems.Hotmail for sign in stuff. For private stuff I use e-mail from my ISP provider. They are all pretty good it’s all up to you.
Even though I do like my family’s current ISP email service, my family changes ISP frequently compared to most (I’d assume), so I wanted an email for myself that “stayed put”.
And I did google e-mail services, I just don’t know what’s a good, reliable, and most importantly secure service… And what’s not. I trust Avast members more than random search results, so that’s why I asked here.
Anyway, I’ll check out this “Outlook” service. Thanks for the recommendation!
For many years I am using rocketmail (now owned by Yahoo)
RocketMail was one of the first major, free webmail services. The service was originally a product of Four11 Corporation. For a brief time, RocketMail battled with Hotmail for the number-one spot among free webmail services. Four11, including RocketMail, was acquired by Yahoo! in 1997 for $92 million
A quite unknown service is fastmail (owned by Opera)
But why looking for a email service?
Doesn’t your provider already provide you with one?
