ok here are the logs

Hi tweaker,

Looks like everything is as it should be except for the junctions. I’m pretty sure the borked junctions caused junctionbox to go into an endless loop and cause the error.

[*]Right click JunctionBox.exe and click “Run as Administrator”
[*]Under profiles select All Profiles and System Junctions from dropdown.
[*]Click Restore Junctions button.
[*]From the list of files select DefaultJunctions.ntj
[*]click open

After junctionbox if finished please close it and rerun junction.bat like you did before. To avoid confusion with previous copies of junctionpoints.txt you may want to delete the one you have on your desktop now.

Please post the junctionpoints.txt.

ok it appears to have run properly, heres the requested log

Hi tweaker,

We got some of the back.

Try running junctionbox again the same way. Then rerun junction.bat and post the log.

Thanks

ok done. i tried to run the backup in junctionbox again just to see and still same error. so i ran as u said above. heres the new junctionpoints

thanks

Hi tweaker,

In junctionbox what do you have listed in the dropdown menu under Profile folder?

  • All Profles and System Junctions *
    AppData
    Default
    hedev
    kris
    Public

Hi tweaker,

The tool doesn’t seem to be able to reset the junctions. You will probably need to do it maualy.

AppData is not a profile name unless of course you really did create a user named AppData.

Depending on what is showin in the properties box there may not be too much to change.

Please right click on C:Documents and Settings. Click properties. Clcik the security tab. What is shown in the group or user names box at the top?

Next click the Advanced button. You can post a screenshot of this one or even the other one also.

Ok yeah the only actual user on here would be kris the rest i have no idea about. never made an appdata user lol.

It seems i do not have access to view the above mentioned for some reason. screenshot attached on next post as this is an edit.

Hi Tweaker,

Please post the screen shots.

heres the screenshot

Hi tweaker,

There is something very wrong here. Though those settings are not quite default (junctiobox get it very close), they should work.

The […] you see in the logs mean the tartget is not accessable or the junction is in a loop.

Can you open C:Users ?

i can open c:\users, but theres directories there of users that i have never made… my user directory (kris) is accessabile, while “hedev” and appdata are not. rather some of their subdirectories are not, others are.

Hi tweaker,

Screenshot #1

Except for the appData and the hedev (unless that is an account you created) this looks normal.

Screenshot #2

Except for the name AppData, looks more or less a valid account. It shouldn’t be there though.

Screenshot #3

Access denied is normal for Application Data no matter where it’s located. It’s a junction.

Screenshot #4

Other than it being in the strange appData account hat is a valid path to a program in the Start Menu.

Let’s see if it shows up as an account.

Click Start > Control Panel
[*]Under User Accounts and Family safety click Add or remove user accounts
What is listed for accounts?
