I get this message on bootup even though the virus database is up to date?
I didn’t have this annoyance with IE6 and my proxy is still set to automatic
detection. I’m stumped and would appreciate some positive feedback or some
kind of explanation. Is it an IE7 conflict? :
What is the error message that you are getting ?
Or post a screenshot of the error message.
I would change the proxy from automatic detection to one that reflects how you connect, Direct connection no proxy Or Specify the proxy details if you do use one.
What is your firewall ?
Does it allow avast.setup access ?
Here I have IE 7 and not a trouble with updates.
When this error occur, at all update or just when you logon?
This minor annoyance has now mysteriously dissappeared. The problem seems to have resolved itself. I’m once again resting easy. Computers and software go
figure ::).
If the problem occurs again ensure you make note of the information we requested it will help us to help you.
Welcome to the forums.
Or help us since, as some forum members posted, IE7 seems to be included in the next automatic update. ;D
Welcome to the forums.
The fact that it is (or isn’t) in the next windows automatic update, doesn’t mean you have to accept it, I personally won’t. I will wait a couple of months at least and let others be the guinea pigs on the release version. Even though it has had a reasonable Public Evaluation release I will be in no rush.
Something told me that you would say so, DavidR. And I agree that not installing it is an option. In fact, I think I am waiting for a week or so to see if things are all right or not. However, after that, as far as I am concerned, I will let WAU install since IE6, which is not known for its high quality security to say at least, is already installed on my machine.
