Troubleshooting couldn’t identify the problem ![]()
I wonder if it is something as simple as a broken cable… Do you have a spare you could try
I’ve found new things. It seems that zeroaccess is erasing the firewall service key from the registry entirely, I’ve scanned my computer with fss and obtained exactly the same result as iiluke :
Windows Firewall:
=============
MpsSvc Service is not running. Checking service configuration:
Checking Start type: Attention! Unable to open MpsSvc registry key. The service key does not exist.
Checking ImagePath: Attention! Unable to open MpsSvc registry key. The service key does not exist.
Checking ServiceDll: Attention! Unable to open MpsSvc registry key. The service key does not exist.
And yes, I’ve checked in services.msc and windows firewall service does not exists anymore :-X
I’ll export the key from my laptop, but is good to know that the firewall key must be restored in the registry after the removal of the virus.
That does need to be repaired but it does not explain the ethernet failure
Maybe the virus has messed up the firewall settings for the ethernet adapter…
I think it worth trying to restore the firewall service and then restore defaults for the firewall
Could you go to my site and download mpssvc.reg to your desktop

Also, if it is of any help, both my internet and offline programs have become more sluggish.
Have you tried another ethernet cable ?
Could you run a fresh OTL scan for me please
Yes I have tried using a new ethernet cable. Didn’t work.
