Redundant Windows 10 Services?

Are there any services in Windows 10 that we can disable, remove and/or uninstall that are made redundant by Avast Premiere? I always feel weird having multiple anti-virus programs running, and it seems like there’s at least one or two (possibly more?) scanners built-in to Windows 10. I know that Avast’s official policy seems to be “we co-exist” but if two scanners are scanning everything all the time, that seems like a lot of overhead.

If the answer is “we co-exist” from Avast, can you please explain -how- you co-exist with Windows 10 services such as Windows Defender and the like? Is there a way that Avast tells Windows “Hey, I’m here, you don’t have to scan anything anymore?” or are you guys just guessing?

Thanks!

Hi, Avast should shut down WD on install.

  • Which version of Premier…?
  • OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)
  • Other security related software installed…?
  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

Actually, in Windows 10, Defender get’s shut off as soon as a third party AV is registered.
This is done by the OS not by Avast or any other 3rd party AV.
