Reference database of knowv viruses

Hi
Does anyone know how to access the Avast historical reference database of known viruses, (the one that contains the names definitions and the effect of known viruses).

I’ve looked in most logical places but cant find any link.

Thanks

you mean this https://www.avast.com/en-eu/virus-update-history

statistic https://www.avast.com/en-eu/stats

I doubt that any such data bank even exists. With thousands of new malware being produced daily it
would be a daunting task just to keep it updated.

The AV-TEST Institute registers over 390,000 new malicious programs every day.

Thanks for all the replies.

I may be getting my products mixed up but I am sure that Avast used to have a database of known named viruses and Trojans, listed by name, each with a brief description of the impact/problem caused if your PC was affected.

None of the databases suggested in the replies has that level of info?

No, they have never had a detailed malware info site

Keep in mind that different vendors are giving malware different names.
With VGrep you can lookup how something is called by the different vendors.
