Hi, I purchased avast in 2014 and only used it for a few months, I didn’t like the software and did not feel it was protecting my pc, so I decided to uninstall it and use another program.
Today I recived an email from pay pal saying a company had deducted £29.99 from my paypal account, it turns out it is on behalf of Avast.
today I have logged into my avast account and it shows I have not communicated with avast servers since 2014, but they have still taken another years subscription which I had no idea I was still paying for.
I don’t use avast and have not since 2014, and I have no intention of using it.
can I get my £29.99 refunded? if Avast check my account it clearly shows I have not used the software which I originally purchased for £19.99 back in 2014, and didn’t use for very long.
any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated … thanks

For the record, email reminders are sent 30 days, 15 days, and 7 days prior automatic renewal to the original email address used when ordering. Each reminder contains instructions to disable this. If email address have been changed since then, unless informed, there is no way to know the new contact details.
Uninstalling the software, does not cancel automatic renewal, unfortunately.
