This morning I’ve requested a refund (£34.99) for Avast Internet Security that automatically renewed due to a subscription I somehow bought over two years ago. In February 2015 Avast charged me £15.99 and I hadn’t even realize until now. The funny part is that I haven’t used this piece of software since 2014. Nevertheless, this year I’m not giving up, and I’m getting my money back. I’ve submitted a ticket and now expecting respond from Avast. Has anybody have an idea what are the chances to get this money back ?
As information :
You bought a subscription.
Just as with magazines, if you have a subscription you need to pay for it.
It doesn’t matter if you actually read the magazine or not.
If you requested the refund within the 30 days, I don’t see any reason why you shouldn’t get the money back.
avast is trying to handle tickets within 10 business days.
Do not submit another ticket or change the existing one.
If you do you will be put back to the bottom of the stack and have to wait longer. (FIFO system).
Just have patience.
I am seeking a refund for a $42.39 charge for a product I never asked for or received. I cannot negotiate the various options because I do not have a product number. I have been online looking at the numerous complaints similar to mine. Contacting Avast is a nightmare. Please help me get a refund.
Well, thanks for explaining it yet again. Unfortunately I do not have the necessary information to submit a ticket with the details. I would hope that Avast would have that information anyway, or is this just another obstacle for me to overcome. By the way, you should check out the numerous complaints on the web about getting refunds or contacting customer service (if it exists). The product may be good but the service is certainly not.
