In my personal laptop, thecoolpics virus was affected. Is Avast Home Edition, antivirus will help me for clearing that virus.

I don’t know. I’m not an expert, either. But a google produced this: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?p=881874 which might give an indication of the sort of thing you may need to do if badly infected. But Avast might clean it.
One suggestion that sounds important to me, is do not use any IM program esp yahoo, until this is fixed.
