When I upgraded from 8 to the NEW Version, I can NO Longer ACCESS other computers on my workgroup, but can see the ICON in network window.
I put the FREE version on and it works fine, no problem.

SO, what’s the PROBLEM with the 2014 version ? ? ? ? ?

I need a FIX ASAP! I am trying to run my business!

Check you have configured the firewall in Avast to allow file sharing traffic, it’s done under system settings, I believe it’s called.

If that doesn’t help, notice that the firewall in Avast 2014 is buggy as hell, lots of other people have the same problems. Try to remove it completely and see if it works. Then install Avast again, and see if it still works. If it stops working, check you have configured the firewall in Avast to allow file sharing traffic, it’s done under system settings.

Good luck, you are going to need it with Avast 2014.

I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling - SAME PROBLEM

The FREE version works just fine though!

The FREE version has no firewall… SIGDUH!

And you have configured the firewall in Avast to allow file sharing traffic?

YES - I enabled EVERY Option including Remote Computer-ALL Sharing-Friends Private Mode-Everything in System Rules and Packet Rules is/are Enabled.

I got around this problem by going to the windows uninstall (via Control Panel) and had the uninstall program remove Firewall. Select “change” from the popup uninstall menu, then clear the check in front of “avast!Firewall”. The Windows firewall is active and I can see all three computers on my home network. Hopefully avast! will get this bug fixed ASAP.

I think I have a fix for you but I don’t know how to contact you personally without posting it here!
So far it is working on two machines (1) with Windows 7 Home Premium and the other is Windows 7 Ultimate.

How can we discuss these issues privately and then make sure it works before and if we tell others.

Can we do a online chat OR ?
