I tried to register Avast AV Pro 5.677(THE Trial version)a few weeks back and want to try again. Many folks were getting issues that kept saying they didn’t have access to the Internet when they did as I also did but was unable to complete install due to this glitch/issue whatever. Any new information on that process? Here’s hoping!

If you uninstalled avast pro 5.0.677, it isn’t a trial version but the fact that you have 30 days unrestricted use (a trial). Uninstalling it effectively concludes your trial period, installing it again won’t give you 30 days (I think it is subsequently restricted to 6 days), an anti-piracy measure to stop it just being reinstalled every 30 days.

Uninstalled Free Versino 5.677 via Control Panel…Rebooted and also used V5 Uninstall Utility.
Install Pro Version absolutely NO PROBLEM. Such a relief given some issues I’ve had in the past with other security software…seems the more complex/effective the program gets the more incompatible it is with my OS’s.
Anyway great install and Registration says I have 30 days. So good for the Laptop…now I going for the DeskTop…Older girl.
I’ll get back to you on that.

OK all went great with both installs…Laptop and DeskTop… Updated properly on both installs and both programs show 30 days of Trial. ;D
When I tried a few weeks back obviously the install never completed due to “not connected to the Internet” issue( but I was).
So for me I can say this issue has been Resolved and I will change the Subject Line to reflect this outcome.
