Registration Expiring, 404'd

Hi. My Avast Free account is going to expire in two days. I clicked the “Register Now” button so that I could continue using the free button, however when I click it, a small window pops up, in which is a “404 not found” message. I tried several times but still nothing. Up until a day ago, I kept getting alerts from Avast that my registration was about to expire, but now instead of random alerts and reminders to update, that same window pops up with the “404 not found” message.

Any idea what’s causing this and how I might fix it?

I have been having that when trying to reset my password, I think either the sites being updated or the email links are wrong. been like it for four days here, I had to create a new account on different email address.

Do you have a firewall installed?

@stitt - your problem is unrelated to the original problem. The email confirmation link for Avast account (my.avast.com) expires after a while. Then you receive “page not found” page - we are working on better messaging.

The original post is about wrongly displayed “screen”.

Hello. Honestly I’m not sure, however, I haven’t made any changes, haven’t updated anything on my computer or even restarted it since this problem started a few days ago. I’ve been using Avast for years now

There were server problems in the past hours. Can you now register?

DJBone

Nope, I still get the popup window with the 404 error. It’s been like this for about two days now. I’m going to try to restart my computer in just a bit and see if that fixes something, but I’m urgently looking for a solution because I have about a day or less until it expires.

Ok, after a restart, the registration window is popping up again, but now when I try to create a new account, it tells me the service is unavailable at this time.

  1. Fine!
  2. Looks like server problems again. I can’t login to my avast account right now :frowning:

I’ll just keep trying then. Hopefully that will be fixed soon. Very soon. :frowning: Thanks for the replies.

Now it seems that the servers are online.
