Registration process, just wow

Horrible. That sets the tone.

First, it says “The letters you typed don’t match the letters that were shown in the picture.”
Why? What was wrong then? I certainly didn’t see anything wrong. Tell me wat I did wrong!!

Secondly it says the password isn’t long enough. Could have said that the first time! GRMBL.

Then I go back, and the password fields are empties. GRMBLGRMBL.

Either Avast doesn’t want users on their forum and make it work badly on puspose, or they need to fire a developer. It’s so easy to make it work nicely, but I guess it’s easier if it’s “good enough” for me to post this topic. Fix it, Avast, just fix it.

And while posting this topic, there’s another captcha underneath it. Go to hell with those captchas. I thought the general consensus what that they are evil, unneccesary, and even complicated to implement. And yet, here they are.

The Captchas here in the forum are for Spam protection, they will be gone after some posts, also you can only send private messages first when you have wrote
at least 20 posts.

You have to look carefully sometimes letters look weird and you have to type them in with Backspaces and you have
have to
pay attention to small and big letters.

The message is very clear. You did not type in what the captcha showed correctly.
Secondly it says the password isn't long enough. Could have said that the first time!
Eh, you could have choosen a decently, hard to figure out, password in the first place.

The webboard is working nicely. Don't blame the car manufacturer if you can't drive and crash against a tree.

They are not evil, they are there to prevent evil. Unneeded? Unfortunately they are needed. Complicated to implement? Not at all.

The captcha is used by a multitude of websites.
So avast isn’t the only one.
They are to deter spammers/spambots.
After your first three log-ins/posts they will disappear.
