I’m getting popups that say my registration for AvastFree will expire in less than a month, but the Registration screen in the user interface says there are still 272 days to go. Which is true? And is there a way to reconcile them?
Repair avast!:
- Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → avast!
- Click on ‘Repair’.
- Follow instructions.
- Reboot.
Did all that, but the registration request popped up after a few days. So I registered with a different name and email which were accepted, so I’m set until the other registration expires.
Not a major problem, but judging from this and other problems reported here, it’s yet an other example of the increasing sloppiness of Avast’s programming.
Problems are reported, good working things are not (and that is the majority).
