Which version are you using…?
NG has been removed in 12.1.2272.

How, with what, why are you trying to delete them ?

since updating avira antivirus free
Do you really mean Avira or do you mean avast ?

He/she must mean Avast. I have the same thing, and its apparent when running CCleaner registry cleaner. Never appeared before this latest version. I also had a computer freeze for no apparent reason this morning however that could be unrelated.

So sorry, but I can’t comfirm your probs on both systems.

Disable Avast Self - protection module and then run CCleaner registry cleaner. Don’t forget to enable Self-protection module.

CCleaner would run into the avast self-defence module when trying to remove (probably old) avast registry entries.

Disabling the avast self-defence module in avastUI > Troubleshooting should allow it to go through.

That said if you have an old version (not the latest 12.1.2272 version) then those may still be in use.

They don’t have to be in use anymore.
It can very well be that avast is still protecting them as they point to files in the avast folder.

CCleaner can’t give itself the correct permission(s) to remove them.
They can be removed manually.
