A scan using ReImage has identified malware in both XP and Win 7. Inspection of ffl2.dll and scan using Avast and Malwarebytes does not show any problem. Path concludes with ffl2.dll-----TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen2 as showm in screen shot. Don’t really understand this path so what is going on ?
Shady program? https://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-reimage-repair-ads/
Anyway this is avast forum, try Reimage support forum if they have one
.
Hi Pondus,
Very surprised that avast forum would not be interested in a reported virus in an avast folder whether true or false. Needs a bit more than a brush off
What can avast do about it?
When avast have a false positive, they are the one that need to fix it, since this is a reimage false positive it need to be reported to reimage so they can fix it
You can report it to avast lab if you want to
Why using a application that is rogue/not trusted/malware itself anyway ?
From the detection name given (TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen2) it seems they are using Avira AV engine
EDIT: And confirmed here >> https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/161171-reimage-repair-false-positive-report/
