Hi

First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member and I only have Avast Antivirus Free.
What program version number are you using of Avast Premium ?
The current version is 26.3, with Avast 26.4 in beta testing, which will be release to public release version soon (no notification of that yet in the Avast Community Forum.
OK I just run a check on my Avast Free Version - scared the pants off me when it said there was an update and it started downloading it.
The build number for this update was 26.3.10886g (build 26.3.10886.978) and UI version of 1.0.858, installer version 26.3.10842.0 (which isn’t in my details below so I don’t know if this has changed). But the others appear to be the same.
I have yet to update my profile settings below my posts so you can compare this after update to previous one in my details below my post.
I also haven’t done a system restart, so I don’t know yet if this will change.
About to do a system restart.
Thanks DavidR Much appreciated
When I click on About to get this information says Avast One
My build number is 26.3.10886g (build 26.3.10866.979) and UI version 1.043, installer version 26.3.10842.
I down loaded from Avast Download page ( Avast Free Version)
Then logged into my account, which then changed to Avast Premium Security.
If I click on Go Premium link Yellow near notifications. When clicked just tells you have Premium Security already installed.
edit: I have install on 10 computers version
Whilst you and I have different Avast Programs, the release versions would essentially be the same. The main difference would be the User Interface UI builds as Avast One has a different user interface.
There have been some cosmetic hiccups in the Avast Antivirus Free range when I open the Avast UI > Menu, it indicates I have Avast Premium, this is a known bug, so I don’t know if you are seeing something similar In avast One where it is saying Go Premium at the top of your User Interface (your 1st image).
Thanks DavidR once again much appreciated.
I think this is why mine is different, looks like Avast Premium Security installs as Avast one.
Very confusing for me. Not hard to do ![]()
Could a Avast representative explain what that yellow button with Go premium should be there or do I have a problem.
This confusion started on mobiles a few weeks back where premium has auto changed since last update to avast one.
looks like they are pushing it out to desktop versions now as i have a update in red today even though i have it set to auto update thats never worked in a good 2-3 years. this time im glad it doesnt update.
You’re welcome.
Thanks for the link not something I have saved, not using Avast One.
I don’t think that it is a problem, I think it is possible that this is a UI glitch in its reporting Go Premium when you already have it.
Much the same as my Avast Free initially it is reporting I have Avast Premium in the main UI image. But take a step into your Avast Settings and it will/should show all the options for the program you have installed.
I’ve tried Avast One few days ago and its interface looked exactly like this. Did they migrate paid versions to One’s interface design? I didn’t particularly like it…
Hi MrDJ your comments much appreciated.
Just updated Avast Premier security on a desktop with win 11 pro, no sign of Avast one yet
When I installed Avast on my mobile ended up with (Avast Premier installed, but actually had free version with out ads) tried numerous times reinstalling to no avail.
Thanks DavidR much appreciated.
Glad you made use of the link.
Hi RejZor
After resetting Win 10 on a laptop. Installed Avast free version, subscribed with my account and ended up with Avast Premium/ Avast one. ( Didn’t take much notice when I installed Avast free )
Strange. ive just manually updated to 26.4 and was expecting the interface lookout to change to whats posted above by user1682 but all looks exactly the same with just bug fixes note.
This is on a win 10 pro laptop.
will try on win 11 which i dont use to see if its any different. nope exactly the same.
I have no idea why the layout looks so different in the first original picture above especially as they are both premium.
Could it be as you have avast vpn loaded its a different UI slightly. I use nord vpn so have never loaded avast.
HI MrDJ
I also have Avast VPN installed on this desktop, Avast premium Security updated exactly like yours did. I also updated manually.
The screenshots in my first post, was a reinstall not a update. After I had reset Win 10 ![]()
Wouldn’t it be really nice, if the first step to releasing a new Avast version update would be to post it in the Community Forums. Giving the details of changes, bug fixes, etc. It shouldn’t come as a surprise !
This is the main reason I have Updates set to Manual.
If you want some clues about the update, you can read the Norton forum:
Norton Security 26.4.10932 for Windows is now available! - Announcements - Norton Community
Avast 26.4 will not change the current interface of Avast Free Antivirus or Avast Premium Security to Avast One.
Avast One is the evolution of Avast Free Antivirus and Avast Premium Security into a new platform. The migration is already underway for Android/iOS mobile devices, but for desktops and laptops, we’ll still have to wait a while.
If you can’t wait, download Avast One and install it over your current product—your license will remain valid.
Noted, and good to hear. But Avast Mobile Security has recently morphed into what is labelled as “Avast One”. ref: Avast Mobile Security is now Avast One
Hence the speculation that the same could happen to Avast Free Antivirus and Avast Premium Security.
It will happen, but not today.
My biggest fear is that the morph to Avast One will bring about what I didn’t like about it.
Yes it has more components (most of which I didn’t require), but much less configurability, I will take configurability over form every time.
I certainly agree with David. I note that https://www.avast.com/installation-files#pc is already at 26.4 and the forum is still lagging as usual as I write this.
