Remote assistance removed in Nitro

OK I get that remote assistance was bloatware, but it was bloatware that I (and apparently I alone) was using, quite regularly, to help my mum out with her PC problems, and she lives a non-commutable distance from me.

Having gone to the (perhaps futile) effort of programming that tool into Avast, what mischief is served in leaving it there for those few of us who use it?

Anyway, whingeing aside, what do you recommend that I now use to replace it? Bear in mind that it has to be useable by my 90 year old mum.

I don’t mind paying, if that improves the experience.

OK belay that. Looks like Teamviewer serves this purpose, perhaps better than Avast did, cheap and cheerful though it was.

There is no need for a separate/third party tool.
Windows has remote access build in.

Hey guys, this thread is redundant. Please check out this https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=187712.0 and even more important…

the poll here https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=187825.0

Well, that link leaves me totally lost as I do not speak German. I presume that it is a poll asking whether or not we want the feature… A RESOUNDING YES!

& I am a VERY pissed off customer and that the first I learn of the removal is when a friend calls for PC help & I can’t find the option… What happens when my Mum calls from the UK? (I am in Colombia!) - THIS FEATURE IS 90% of why I have stayed loyal to AVAST despite it not being the No1 product!!! I provide support to family and SEVERAL Friends and have installed AVAST on ALL their machines in order to do so remotely :frowning:

Maybe this post from Vlk ( Ondej Vlcek ) is interesting for you https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=187712.msg1321811#msg1321811
