I’ve just received a remote code from my mom, and remote assistent says it’s rejected? It’s not the first time I’ve expereinced this, the controlling computer is a win 8.1 system, and I’ve never had this problem on my win 7 system. Please what do I do to fix this???
The GUI must be open at all times during a remote assistance seesion
Also make sure your mothers system is not going into sleepmode/powersaving mode/using a screensaver.
and By GUI you mean that no auto-locking the computer, and the screen must turned on in order to all to so?
And the avast remote windows should be the active window? my mom know that she is not to touch the computer after this window with the code is up.
That is correct if the Avast window is not open then the connection will fail
Also is remote assistance allowed within the target computer
and how do I test if it is allowed on the controlled computer? I can do it from my win 7 system without any problems.
What OS is the remote computer ?
win 8.1
Check if the firewall isn’t blocking things.
Thats a vauge answer. How do I do that?
I know the port 8011 is used by avast for the remote control, it’s open, I think - again not know to test it, on both computers in the comodo firewall.
Look at your firewalls log file and see if there is anything saying something like “avast was blocked”
or disable the firewall (also the windows one) and try a remote session.
If it works, you will know it is the firewall that is blocking it.
I’ve tried with both comodo and windows firewall disabled and nothing changed. Now avast is also showing a local error 0x10003 on both computers but random and independent of eachother.
If I may. What is the issue with your Mum’s computer? We may be able to solve it here…
Also, you can use Free programs (Other then Avast!) like TeamViewer
The problem is that I can not use the remote control from neither of my computers to any of the other computers in the home nomatter where I’m. So I can’t jump in and help my mom or sister if there is a problem like we are used to i can. Somehow something changed within the avast setting, so now it’s the error message i noticed on my computer are on all win 7 and Win 8 computeres, but no my old win xp machine.
Sounds to me like a windows problem.
Something on the windows 7 & 8 systems are blocking avast.
I"ve never used the Avast! Remote Suport… So I can’t say how good (Or bad) it is. Teamviewer however, gives you the ability to put any computer (Has to be authorized from each computer) into a “Contact Group” giving you 24/7 Unlimited Access. I use it daily for transferring Files/Projects while I’m at school…
Plus, it gives you clear Remote Access.
