Remove 365-day free subscription

Hello avast team,

I’m a long-term avast users and I install avast free for my family members and friends
However, almost all are novice/average users who can only open browsers, word documents and images. They don’t even know the existence of avast if I don’t tell them

The problem is I’m not with them 24/7, when the free subscription expires, their PCs will be unprotected, isn’t it?. This is my concern because I cannot help them if the PCs are unprotected

I would like to ask what the point of making this free subscription? When the license is closed to the expiration date, more ads will come up to suggest to users to buy a pro license?

My suggestion is to remove this 365 free subscription or at least keep the system protected if the free license expires because it’s a free license. I know this problem with avast so many times, I decided to install different free AVs for my friends but they all came up with dissatisfaction

Thank you

Hi Evjls. Yes, avast free is for free use home/personal use only and also upon registration your free license will be for one year, after that you will again have to register again and only thing you will need is the email address that you used to use Avast Free. Registration is required only for malware definition and program updates and is free. Once one year is about to pass, avast will notify users that your registration is about to expire and you will need to register again, once that time comes you don’t need to be with them 24/7, you just need to to tell them that once you see that avast free needs to be register again just type in the email address that you have used before and that’s it. Avast free do display ads and such and it doesn’t disturb the users, it’s just for business purposes. If you want to buy a pro license, by all means go for it. If you don’t want to go for the pro license and want to go for a different antivirus. All free antivirus shows ads and such. I suggest you go for AVG Free, I am still using that for a very long time and it’s a fantastic program.

Just a heads up and in case you didn’t know. Avast bought AVG and currently it’s now as a one whole company. Things are very much looking up for AVG and AVAST  More info is here https://www.the-parallax.com/2016/09/30/what-buyout-means-400-million-avast-avg-users-qa/?utm_source=parallax&utm_medium=info%20ads&utm_campaign=ParallaxQ316&utm_content=Article11BuyoutAvast%26AVG

It is just a business model. Why do companies advertise ? Why do companies give away free things ? Simple, they want to have their name known and attract paying customers.

No.
