i’m going to remove avg free from a friend’s hp laptop and install avast!home…after removing avg free from the add/remove programs…is there a program or way to make sure avg free is completely removed before installing avast!home

My experience with removing AVG free is taken from the AVG forum:
Downloaded the latest installer, ran it, and chose uninstall from the menu when prompted.
I played with this for a while and this method gave zero, or next to zero, remnants of AVG in the registry.
Add/remove left much more behind, so I would prefer the first method.
The remnants can possibly stay in registry or get removed by other tools, but this was a good solution for me.

did what you mentioned and had no problem and could not find any traces of avg free on her hp laptop…now she has avast!on her computer and it works just fine…thanks ;D 8)
