Remove 'Checked for viruses' from sent emails

I’ve just started using Avast - based on a strong recommendation in PCPro Magazine (UK). it seems to flag all my outgoing messages with “This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software”, which I don’t want.

I could turn it off in AVG; how do I do the same thing in Avast? I googled this to try and find an answer (as it seems other users have already flagged it as an issue), but the search results don’t point to a specific post on the forum.

You may have answered this before - please be kind enough to repeat the anwer for me…

Hi Bill and welcome.

Open Avast > Settings > Active protection > Mail Shield Customize > Behavior > General. Tick or untick what you need.

Thank you - all sorted now!

Good ;D You are welcome

For me the opposite is true, it is kind of reassuring when a mail comes from my wife’s laptop and lands in my mailbox and I see that message. It feels like we are well protected ;D ;D
