Is there a way to remove infected mail automatically?
We are coming down with NetskyP mail, and it’s a pain to have to select yes to delete each one manually!

Use Silent Mode (Move to Chest). Other predefined actions are only available in professional Edition.
If you are regularly getting these infected emails, so as to be intrusive and not wanting to be notified about them, perhaps it is time to review your PC security. Rather than treat the symptoms, treat the disease. You can intercept these emails at source (your isp/services mail server) and delete them there, rather than download them.
I use MailWasher Pro, although it is primarily for Spam it is also easy to deal with suspicious emails. There is a free version, but this only works with a single email account. The Pro version works with multiple accounts.
We scan for new mail every 10 > 15 mins, running mail washer wouldn’t help as a lot of the mails are “from” people who work with us (Netsky sends mail using addresses lifted from an infected machines address book), and we can’t scan the files at source to see if they contain a virus.
Obviously a client has been unknowingly affected, but we can’t afford to delete any that may be legitimate.
Use Silent Mode (Move to Chest) - how would i find this option then? thanks
Right click the ‘a’ blue icon on system tray
Choose the first option (On-access protection)
Go to the Internet Mail provider at left. Click.
Choose Customize at right
Go to Advanced tab
Choose ‘Silent Mode’ and the answer ‘No’ (which means ‘send file to chest’) ![]()
advanced or Heuristic ‘Silent Mode’ option? Thanks.
Advanced or Heuristic ‘Silent Mode’ option? Thanks.
Advanced (silent mode + No = send file to Chest).
Heuristic silent mode is applied only when emails are processed: delivering the message, excluding the message or making it on the subject field.
Thank you Technical.
