remove.exe potential virus by Avast?

it’s some freaky uninstaller… this file will be whitelisted on our side… wait for the VPS update

Yes, please make sure this is resolved! It is driving me crazy! I nearly choke on my corn flakes and cocoa milk this morning when I saw the message. Really scary!!!

B

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!
As I noticed yesterday night…this file had something in common with my webcam’s drivers…
I simply uninstalled the cam…et voilà…remove.exe disappeared from system32…
So it was surely a false positive!!
I hope that next avast update will fix the problem!

the VPS should be available soon…

It’s actually a well known MS system file that I have seen other AVs try to delete. It came up during Heuristic background scan and doesn’t come up with normal scan. I left AVG due to it wanting to delete systems files, I hope this is not the beginning of a trend with Avast as this is the second time it’s happened in less than a week.

I don’t think so… just another false positive wave, this time, on antirootkit heuristic scanning.
Remember, it’s safer sending to Chest than directly removing, it’s safer asking for help on forums first

ciao FranzHate.
Ma che cam hai? Io una TRUST,quella a forma di sfera.Molto economica tra l’altro.
Ti va di rimanere in contatto? Se ti va scrivimi una mail a giangygian@yahoo.com

Not so well known on my system it doesn’t exist.

At least in this scan it does give the option to ignore (doesn’t just delete it) and I believe Ignore is also the recommend choice for action and to send to avast.
