Remove scheduled scanning pop up?

Hi
I have been digging around in the avast settings and i can not find anything about the scheduled scanning pop up. How do i remove it? I just want everything to run automatically in the background.

Best regards,
Niklas

I want to know also…

There is no such setting in the avastUI and as far as I’m aware no .ini file setting that can be manually set.

What is the problem with it popping up ?
If it is because you are working and don’t want the notification (?), you could try pushing it back to a time that the computer is on, but you aren’t likely to be active.

Previously there was no indication that a scheduled scan was running and many were asking for notification it was running, so they a) didn’t shutdown whilst it was running or b) start something that was resource intensive.

You could also set avast into Silent/Gaming mode (avastUI, Settings), that of course would effect all popups, etc. and not just this one.

Another one, I have my avastUI open almost all the time (referring to it when helping in the forums), but minimised to the windows task-bar. I believe when the avastUI is open (even minimised) you don’t get this scheduled scan in progress pop-up.

Its my parents computer and they shut it off when they see it cause they think its irritating. And i do not know when they use the computer.
But what i do know is that they do not run any resource intensive programs.

Where do i find the .ini and what should i change in the ini?

have you tired using the screensaver scan and not scheduled scan

have you tired using the screen saver scan and not scheduled scan
Hmm... But is not that active by default?

No it isn’t active by default, it is an on-demand scan (has to be created/initiated by the user), it is not a resident on-access scan like that of the file system shield.

Sure i could activate it, but it still feels like it would be good to have a real scan once a week.

The screen saver scan ‘is a real scan,’ in the same way as any other on-demand scan.

  • With a resident on-access antivirus like avast, the need for frequent on-demand scans is much depreciated. For the most part the on-demand scan is going to be scanning files that would be otherwise be dormant or inert. If they were active files then the on-access file system shield would be scanning them before being created, modified, opened or executed.

Having said that, I have avast set to do a scheduled weekly Quick scan, set at a time and day that I know the computer will be on but I won’t be busy.

Or follow the other suggestion of keeping the avastUI open but minimised to the taskbar and no popup. There are ways round it, choose one.
