Hi,
Where and how do I remove the Avast! signature in the Free Avast! Antivirus 2014.9 ?
Is that possible?

Can you give more information on what it is that you are trying to achieve ?
e.g. What signature are you talking about and why.

It’s not a big problem but can I remove the signature below from my outgoing mails?
This email is free of viruses and malware because avast! Antivirus protection is enabled.

If you mean the insertion of a clean note, this was disabled some time ago. But it seems to have been reintroduced in avast 9.
From the avastUI > Settings > Active Protection > Mail Shield > Settings (the cog wheel) > Behavior - General section and uncheck the options you don’t want.

Thank you.
I have just found it.

Apparently what some of us describe as an outgoing mail “signature”, Avast calls a “clean note.”
I was not familiar with what “clean note” meant until I Googled it.
Based on his comment the option he wanted to uncheck was “Insert note into clean message (outgoing).” This will remove the Avast “signature” (or “clean note”) from being appended to the end of the body of all your sent email.
Since initially I did not fully understand this thread I wanted to add this simple comment in case any other Avast users find this webpage in their search hits.
Finally David, thank you for defining the steps to find the option to disable this.
Cheers.

Hi,
With version 11.1.2245 (latest as writing), the parameter is not kept when my desktop session is closed.
What I do :
- Go to options
- Uncheck the parameter
- Close session/Open session (or reboot)
- Go to options
- Parameter is still checked
Edit : the solution is in thread https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=180216.0

That’s the problem in responding to a topic started over two years ago, program features and setting change. It breaths life into a dead topic and brings it back up the chronological order in the topic lists.
There are many newer topic about the email signature and how to deal with it in the current version.
