Removing a module

Ok, I don’t want the spam module so I disabled it. But now there is an exclamation point over the avast icon all the time. Isn’t there a way to uninstall that module so that avast doesn’t always tell me my system is not fully protected?

you can either:

1 deactivate the warning (exclamation point) >>> go to main settings, status bar options

or

2 launch avast uninstaller, chose “change”, deselect the module you don’t want anymore, click next, reboot.

Avast internet security has no uninstall option from it’s start menu folder, and does not show up in control panel>program
So I downloaded a new installer, when I run it the only option is to uninstall, no other options.

So, you’re installation is corrupted.

I suggest an installation from the scratch:

  1. Download the latest version of avast! Uninstall Utility and save it.
  2. Download the latest avast! version and save it.
  3. Uninstall avast from Control Panel (if possible). If, for any reason, you can’t run it, try booting in Safe Mode and doing it from there. Anyway, boot after that.
  4. Run the avast! Uninstall Utility saved on 1. If, for any reason, you can’t run it, try booting in Safe Mode and doing it from there. Anyway, boot after you’ve run it.
  5. Install avast! using the setup saved on 2 (choose the custom installation). Boot.
  6. Register your free copy or add the license key for Pro.
  7. Check and post the results.
