Removing Avast 4

I need to remove Avast 4. I don’t recall whether I have the home version or business version.

I tried deleting the program using the control panel’s “add-remove” programs function. Avast is not even listed - but it is there nonetheless.

I tried deleting the avast file but the computer would not allow me to delete it. It seems to be protected.

  1. Uninstall avast from Control Panel first (try again).
  2. Boot.
  3. Download the latest version of Avast Uninstall and use it for complete uninstallation.
  4. Boot.
