I need to remove the avast! registry keys but do not know which ones to remove by name. I do not know the version but believe it to be about one year old. The folder has been manually deleted.
This is a friends machine and I have been given this task. Could someone please help.
Thanks a bunch, this machine has been a nightmare.

If they had used the add remove programs uninstall that should have done a better job than manual deletion.
You may need to at least manually create the avast folder, C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4 and then Download the avast! Uninstall Utility, find it here

Thanks David,
That is the problem. The addremove programs utility has been destroyed by viruses it appears, along with the defrag utility and who knows what else. You have a good idea. Thanks again!
Why? :
Why did he/she give up on avast?
Anyway, if you want to check, after using the tool that David says, see, at least:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ALWIL Software
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Aavmker4
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\aswMon2
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\aswTdi
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\aswUpdSv\
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_AAVMKER4
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_ASWMON2
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_ASWTDI
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_ASWUPDSV
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_AVAST!_ANTIVIRUS\
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\Avast\
But there are more…

She evidently did not update the antivirus and paid the price. So she could not remove it through add/remove and just deleted the folder.
Thanks for the registry entries! Where can I find an entire list. Is it on a web page somewhere?
Thanks, again.
Its better just using the tool posted before. You can use a good Registry Cleaner (if you search avast forum youll find suggestions).
But I don`t think you need to worry that much after using the tool
I think there isn`t a full list of entries either :
