Removing Avast

Is there a way just to get my money back? I spent over an hour yesterday with an Avast tech by telephone. My licensed version turned into the free version. We removed that and reinstalled the paid version. Last night my system turned off with a blue screen aaying there was an error in the NTFS. SYS. It had something to do with drivers. Avast was interferring with my drivers. I wasn’t allowed to check out my drivers. I wasn’t allowed to remove Avast BUT the free version popped back up. This morning the free version informs me an error as occurred and it cannot update. I WANT RID OF THIS VIRUS AND I THINK THAT’S WAS AVAST IS, A PAID FOR VIRUS. It will cost me over $150.00 to take this to a tech and have it sorted out. I also want to know how to get my money back for the pro Avast and the disc I paid for WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE THE FREE VERSION. I feel ripped off and the only thing that will help is to get my money back.

It would have been better to have come here first than go to a tech to have sorted.

Where and when did you purchase avast pro and which version, 4.8 or 5.0 (for now I will assume 5.0)?

If you received your license email with attached license file (or link to download it) you then need to enter that license into the program, did you do that ?

If you didn’t after 30 days it may revert to the free version.

Avast as far as I’m aware doesn’t have an option to get it on CD, so it looks like you got avast from another source other than the official avast.com site and the on-line payment processing (Digital River - Element5).

if i remember correctly, i think there is an option for a physical media form of avast to be shipped to u if u wish, but it costs extra

Thanks firzen771, at least that clears that element up. Now we need to see the answers from the OP for the other questions.
