Renewal Issues

I just renewed my subscription, taking advantage of the 50% off sale. Yet I am constantly bombarded with “Upgrade” and “Renew” prompts. My Order ID Number is: 20209883139
It says my pc is being slowed down and I need to fix it. So I try, only to be hit with “Upgrade”. It wants me to secure my internet traffic, so I try, and I get “Upgrade”. So I just spent $55.97. What exactly did I get? I spent almost $60 and I’m being spammed by the program itself to spend more money. Why? If I were using the free version I’d expect that. Not this. Simply offering a refund doesn’t fix the problem. It would be like you giving me a piece of moldy bread and me going “You’re giving out moldy bread.” To which you take it from me and hand it to someone else saying the problem has been fixed. If we’re forking out over $50 I think that the amount of spam should be significantly less. If I didn’t upgrade to get the cleaner, then don’t show that screen. It’s simple logic, if I wanted it, I would have bought it. Same goes for the VPN. I hope in the future you think about the end user more and address these issues. It’s like paying for premium TV and getting commercials. I’ve been using Avast since you were a tiny little program. You were about quality. Heck, I still remember the “Talk like a pirate day” voice pack you gave away for free via in-app update. Guys, what happened?

You can disable the ads in the paid versions: Avast GUI → Settings → Personal Privacy

Ya know. I feel sort of a fool for that. Thank you. Yeah, yeah. Definitely foot in mouth disease.

You’re welcome.
