It’s just about time for me to renew my subscription. I’ve read that I should receive a 30 percent discount notification within 30 days of licence expiration. As far as I can tell, that hasn’t happened.
Is there anything I can do to obtain this discount, or must I just go ahead and pay the full price?
You could contact sales and enquire there. Most importantly, ensure that you or your ips doesn’t have spam blocker blocking emails from avast.

The renewal notification along with the coupon should come from renewal@avast.com. You may want to add this address to the allowed list if a spam blocker is used at either end.

The renewal notice was 10 days before expiration, the coupon was good for 30+
