Running Windows 7 - Home Premium -64 bit. I renewed my subscription for Avast Internet Security a few days ago. Program version shows 11.1.2241. I’m now unable to access the new Safezone Browser when I click on it in the list under tools. There was no option to create a shortcut icon during install.
Additionally, when I tried to access my online account at Wells Fargo which I had connected to Safezone, it wouldn’t let me access my account. Changed password, called Wells Fargo, they have no idea. Using Internet Explorer 11. Tried unlinking my account from Safezone, restarted computer, still couldn’t access account, called Wells Fargo, they have no idea.
Downloaded Chrome cause I thought maybe IE11 was the problem. From the Wells Fargo home page (scap attached) I clicked on SWITCH NOW, which sent me to Avast’s splash page (scap attached) so I could download Avast… which I already have.
FYI able to access my Wells Fargo account on my mobile device with no problem.
Any help figuring out why I can’t access SafeZone Browser appreciated. Thank you.
UPDATE: I scrolled down and saw the Firewall Thread. I ran repair and it seems to have fixed the problem. Thank you!
That worked in that I can now access the Safezone Browser and my Wells Fargo account, but when I start Avast itself, I get a firewall off message and clicking the Turn Firewall On button does nothing.
So I’m guessing this is something I need to fix on my end??
I used the link you provided in your previous post to reinstall Avast IS. That fixed my Safezone issues but left me with the firewall off.
I searched the forum and found someone else having firewall issues. Using info I found there, I went to programs > change > repair. The only version of Avast showing up was the new install 11.1.2244. I ran repair, rebooted and everything appears to be running fine with the firewall on. That was when I updated my post saying things looked good.
Not to be stupid, but I don’t know what aswclear is??
See above for post to Eddy explaining what I did. On my end, it appears I’m running fine with one version of Avast IS that is functional. If you think I need to do what you suggested above, I can.
