I recently received an email advising me that my registration expires in a month. I have two problems.
- The re-registration instructions in the email are wrong.
Or, you can stay with your current, baseline free antivirus protection. In order to continue, simply re-register your software and you can use it free for another 12 months: receive automatic updates to both the software and your virus database.
How to register?
- Open your avast! program via the desktop icon or Start menu
- Click ‘Maintenance’ in the left pane and from the unfolded submenu select ‘Registration’
- Select ‘Register’ in the left menu
- Click the ‘Register now’ button in the main white area
- Select your option, fill in the form, and submit it
- You are then protected for another year.
There is no ‘Maintenance’ in the left pane. The correct path is ‘Settings’ > ‘Registration’
- My current registration does NOT expire in a month. It expires on May 28th. That’s 98 days away.
So will my Avast stop working in a month, or what?

They look like the instructions related to an earlier version of avast, for the latest version it is what you posted “he correct path is ‘Settings’ > ‘Registration’”
The email most likely comes from the my.avast.com account settings. Do you have more than one installation of avast connected to your my.avast.com account ?
If your installation is showing 98 days, then it shouldn’t stop in 30 days.

Then perhaps the form email should be updated!

One device - Expiring 19th March 2014 (which is wrong!) As stated, the program itself shows 28th May.
I guess it’s no big deal. I’ll just re-register as requested. But it’s all a bit messy.
