repair virus "newbie"

Hi everone
I read in the forum about "win32:Trogen-gen [other].
I have had this virus alert 3 times repaired it each time, now that it is a false positive 3 Questions.

1 ???If a virus is repaired by avast, should it reappear the next time a scan is done.

2 ??? Is better to place a virus into the virus chest, or to delete the virus straight out of your system.

3 ???I don’t really know what is a false alarm or a genuine virus.

I have used the latest update version 0424-1, and am using avast program 4.1.396.

I’m only a novice with computers, hope you can understand this.

Maybe, it could be at the temporary folder… But most commonly not.

I really suggest you use the Chest. There you can delete, re-scan or restore the file if it is a false alarm. If you delete the file and it is a necessary file for the computer, you could not boot next time

False alarm is a clean file that is ‘detected’ as being a virus.
You can test the file with more than one antivirus. I recommend you test virus on-line (see the links page on my signature for examples) before you delete a file.

Thanks Technical

I will certainly adhere to your advice

Thanks crofty
