hi. i have just started using avast. it was able to find right away A LOT of viruses which my previous antivirus software missed. one virus that was found was win32:valla. when i clicked on “repair”, i was kept being given the message that it couldn’t be repaired as it is not in the VRDB? what does this mean? how do i activate the VRDB? or is it something that needs to be activated? also, now, even the avast! scanner itself is infected with this virus. thanks!
The VRDB is a program in Avast that activate hisself if you don’t work with your computer about a half hour.and for the virusses
do a online scan

The vrdb generates a database with important systems files. Depending on your settings it does this when the system is idle or when the screensaver runs. As soon as the files are in the vrdb, Avast is capable of putting the original files back when a system file is infected. Since you just installed Avast, the vrdb didn’t had the change to generate the database, so it can’t put the original file(s) back. Therefor you need to solve it in another way. Please tell us what file(s) are infected, where they are located and with what virus. Also mention the version of Avast you are using and the version of the vps.
