Repeated JS:Miner-C [Trj] Alert While Using Chrome

So the other day I was on a movie site( on Google Chrome) and this alert from Avast (see attachments, it’s the “codelikea” one), kept popping up as I was using Chrome. Obviously the site was bad, but it popped up like 4 times in a row. The URL it mentioned had nothing to do with the site I was on. I thought nothing of it because I got Avast on my side. That was yesterday. Now, today, I was going to play an online game called shellshockers. io. I’ve played this game many, many times before and never got an alert from it. But today I was playing it and the alert( the most recent one of ipfs. io) came up. I found this really weird because #1 it was a different link name?, #2 it had never triggered an alert before, and #3 it kept coming every 5 seconds on that site. Not really sure what to make of it. Virustotal says the “codelikea” link is suspicious, but doesn’t say much for the other one. Any thoughts on why this is occurring. I am currently doing a full scan. Please assist/offer advice in any way you can. I’d appreciate it so much!

EDIT/update: Avast full scan has found nothing except for 10 things that were unable to be scanned.

If this pops up when not doing anything, try clear your browser history / cache

You may also run AdwCleaner >> https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/

Thank you for the reply. I ran the Mac equivalent of adwcleaner and I also cleared my Chrome history and cache. After this I tried to access the same shellshock. io website and I’m still getting the alert popping up. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do.

Does it only happen on that website? If so then the problem is on that site

If it happen other places also then you may have some crap in the computer that try to connect to those URLs

That specific Avast pop up only happens on that site but it never used to happen before. I uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome and it still comes up. I also don’t now why the URL it states in the alert is not malicious.
