Repeated popup - What does this mean?

Recently I started getting this popup, and it never stops.

I use Avast Free and never knowingly subscribed to Avast Pro and don’t want to do so now. Why do I keep getting this message saying my subscription has expired. More important, how can I get it to stop?

Does this mean that my Avast Free is not updating automatically?

I don’t know how I got it. How do I get rid of it? Uninstall and re-install the free version?
