Repeated Web Shield Warning, starting January 10 or 11...

Hello,

I keep receiving warnings every time I open a new page, either on Firefox or Chrome. I really don’t know how to fix this. My Avast antivirus is constantly updated and after I run it no threats are detected. Likewise, I’m running Spybot where it seems to find and fix different elements. I’m completely lost from this point and don’t know how to proceed. I would have expected the manufacturer to contact all users, which has happened as yet. Would anyone have any hints?

Thank you!

It seems I always get a different link which leads nowhere:

Unless my pc is completely contaminated and Avast is not able to put an end to the problem, in which case, is it a matter of just uninstalling it?

Please post the warning or a screenshot.

Use AdwCleaner: http://general-changelog-team.fr/en/downloads/finish/20-outils-de-xplode/2-adwcleaner

unfortunately, it is not at all possible to either take screen shots of the shields and consequently post them here. I’ve tried to contact support which directs you to this forum, this is totally ridiculous…

See: Reply #3…!!

Post log here when you have run AdwCleaner

Hi and thanks, what is ADW cleaner and how can I trust it?

I’d be grateful is someone could give me a hand with uninstalling Avast permanently. I’ll go for something else better.

Thank you!

I’ve tried to contact customer service, would anyone know any email address I can use for this purpose?

Thanks!

  1. Well, either trust us or don’t. :stuck_out_tongue:
  2. http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility Good luck.

thank you

You’re welcome.

ADW Cleaner is a well known and trustworthy tool for dealing with malware.

Avast is warning you for a reason, unistalling will do nothing to help you, more likely cause more issues.

Install and run ADW Cleaner, post the log file and then the malware cleaners here can help you.

if avast detection/block is correct ..... removing the AV that detect it and replacing with one that does not.... does not fix the infection problem ::)

why did you install a AV

See attached picture for evaluation of situation,
because an avast! Web Shield valid detection is a valid detection period!
Going into denial or trying to ignore won’t help!
Do not panic and cleanse or avoid going to the site until no longer with viral content,
or inform the webmaster there by mail, which could also help others avoid infections!

This would indicate either a bad addon or some adware installed on the system
