I tell you that yesterday I installed the latest free Avast (v.11.1.2253). I did an analysis. Avast discovered 150 virus. I wanted a report in a file. Avast can not do it. In settings report I established a name for the report file. But Avast does not write it. The report screen does not allow to save the report. It presents data from 11 lines. I should do PrintScreen and copy successive 11 screens in Photoshop to get my report.
I need the report to plan actions to take for each virus in important files.
Perhaps the free version does not allow a report in file text. Or maybe it is a lack of program?. Thank You very much !
Oh, yes, of course. But report remain with 0 bytes.
I set up the name of report. And yes, before running the scan.
I believe that the report is not written because I choose “no actions” when it is presented. Maybe the report is done after to execute an action for each item. I need the report for sort it (by directory) and replenish each file important killed.
PD: by the way, seems that I’m not a “inteligent system” for the captcha. (LOL). Is very hard of overcome.
The report file has nothing to do with the pre-selected actions (except for the fact that the actions are written to the report as well, if any), it is created no matter what actions you specify.
Can you please post a screenshot of the report settings page? What scan are you running - one of the default ones, or have you created your own?
Btw, do you see other reports in the mentioned folder? There should be some reports from the shields there.
This page of Avast settings corresponds to the File System Shield.
Were you running an on-demand scan (e.g. the Full system scan, or maybe you created your own scan)? If so, the report needs to be enabled in the settings of the particular scan (i.e. the same page/form, but located elsewhere).
Or were the detections you are interested in actually reported by the File System Shield (i.e. without manually running any scan)?
Well. I not see any button or menu for settings. There is a unique button: start analysis (or something so) in Execute Intelligent Analysis. Really, Avast Free has very few options. Full Scan (pre-Windows, D.O.S. style) start only if Avast detects serious infection, not on-demand. Zero configuration. Maybe then it write a report, I don’t know.
Wow! Keep looking and found the screen of parameters for searching virus! A round of applauses for designers of screens minimalists!. I configured parameters of report and started a new analysis.
